wright-commercial-mowers-how-to-mow-a-yard-best-mower-mowers-lawn-companyIt’s no secret that Wright Manufacturing can offer you quality mowers for any lawn mowing job, and that you can get the best results with the right mowers. If you are buying one of our mowers, then you probably know how to mow a yard like a pro. However, do you know how to properly store your mower?

If you’re making a huge investment in quality equipment for your lawn company, then don’t risk a fire or accident due to improper mower storage. It may seem like an unlikely scenario, but fires can happen. At Wright Manufacturing, we want to do more than just make your lawn mowing easier. We want to help your lawn company thrive. This means sharing the knowledge we’ve learned from our years of experience in the business.

Here are four tips on how to properly store your mower and prevent fires:

  1. Clean Debris– It’s a good idea to always clean off your mower after each yard. If you don’t choose to clean off your mower after a job, then at least clean off debris at the end of the day. This will help prevent any leaves or clippings from coming into contact with hot surfaces.
  2. Keep Them Separated– It’s always a good idea to keep any gasoline, flammable items or oil away from your mowers. It’s unlikely that an accident could happen, but it has been known to happen.
  3. Store Properly– If you keep your equipment at your residence, then find a safe place away from your home. This suggestion is dependent upon your storage options. If a fire does start, then storing mowers at a distance will minimize the damage.
  4. Cool Down Time- Allowing your mowers to cool down for approximately half an hour before storage will decrease chances of fire significantly.

These tips will help you prevent fires. You may think that a fire is unlikely. However, look around as you drive from job to job. You may be surprised to see hot mowers left near propane tanks or near gasoline cans, even leftover fireworks from the Fourth of July. A fire may seem unlikely, but it doesn’t take much effort to properly store your mower. You want to take care of your mower investment. Why not take care in how you properly store your equipment? Check out our commercial mowing products. Which of our Wright Manufacturing mowers will be your next properly stored investment?
